Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed outside of Georgetown for a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon, according to the Clear Creek Sheriff’s Office. The interstate is closed at mile marker 227, just west of Georgetown, so that first responders can access the accident, sheriff’s officials said at 12:49 p.m. Tuesday.

According to Washington State Department of Transportation, eastbound I-90 in Snoqualmie pass closed at milepost 47. The pass is closed 5 miles west of the summit for multiple spinouts and collisions. Westbound lanes remain open however, traction tires or chains are required.

Investigators of the crash believe that nine cars were involved, one of which was a semi hauling several vehicles.

I-70 is back open after a multi-vehicle crash shut down the highway on Tuesday around 12:45 p.m. Colorado State Patrol said they responded to a nine-vehicle crash near Georgetown on eastbound I-70. Multiple people involved in that crash were injured and taken to hospitals.
