Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has put state resources and agencies on alert ahead of the severe storms projected to slam Houston Thursday afternoon, according to a Thursday news release.  The news came after the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for most of southeast Texas including Houston and Harris County,

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has activated some of the state's emergency resources due to potential severe weather. The National Weather Service says the risks include large hail, damaging wind, flash flooding and even possible tornadoes on Thursday. Houston is under a Tornado Watch until 7 p.m.
