The northern Midlands, including Fairfield, Kershaw, Newberry, and Saluda counties, are under a winter storm watch.

Light snow is expected to arrive in our area between 9 a.m. and noon on Friday. The snowfall becomes heavy Friday afternoon, spreading east and the roads start to become hazardous. Heavy snow begins to mix in with ice Friday afternoon in the southern part of the area and moves north.
