Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, will be eulogized at a state funeral Thursday at the National Cathedral and later by private family services and interment in Plains, Georgia.

One of the first calls Obama made after U.S. forces killed Osama bin Laden in 2011 was to George W. Bush to spread the word that the mission had been accomplished, said Kate Andersen Brower, author of “Team of Five: The Presidents Club in the Age of Trump.”

Jimmy Carter's state funeral was held at the National Cathedral on Thursday and the 39th president's final journey to Georgia has begun. President Biden gave a eulogy at the service, highlighting Carter's character and faith.
