The sculpture, currently on the exterior wall just east of the main museum entrance, depicts a Native American, bow in hand, with his arms outstretched as he watches four swans fly away.

The steps of the bridge are casts of Smith’s outstretched right arm. “This sculpture is a monument to his gesture and the power of that gesture through time,” said curator Sarah Newman.
