As ESPN juggles TV and streaming, tennis fans offer warning
ESPN is leaning on its “Unlimited” streaming service in the second week of the Australian Open, a hot topic among American tennis fans who have been frustrated by the company’s multi-tiered coverage of the year’s first major.
During perhaps one of the best seasons for watching sports on television, ESPN channels were removed from the YouTube TV streaming platform last week as the sides wage a war of words in a carriage dispute over broadcast fees.
YouTube TV subscribers, your channels -- and your football -- are back. Disney and YouTube said Friday night that the two companies had reached an agreement. YouTube TV subscribers lost all of Disney's channels, including ESPN and ESPN2, on Oct. 30.
