The Miami Dolphins have fired head coach Mike McDaniel following a disappointing 7-10 for the 2025 regular season. The decision was made by team owner Stephen Ross, amid mounting fan frustration and ongoing on-field struggles with discipline and execution.
Earlier this season, Miami and long-time general manager Chris Grier had "mutually agreed to part ways" after a 2-7 start to the 2025 campaign. Though the Dolphins did have an interim GM in place in Champ Kelly, they've decided to go with an outside voice for their new hire in that position.
The NFL coaching carousel keeps spinning. Eight teams are seeking a new head coach after Baltimore fired John Harbaugh on Tuesday and Miami fired Mike McDaniel on Thursday. Others could join the search if their team is one-and-done in the playoffs.
