A couple of years ago now, Blizzard released Overwatch 2 as a free-to-play successor to the ever-popular Overwatch. The sequel made come core changes to the experience, namely switching to a 5v5 setup - a change that will be reversed in an upcoming limited-time event in OW2.

Overwatch 2 is returning to the original Overwatch's 6v6 format (and all of its original character abilities and maps) for a limited-time in an upcoming event mode Blizzard is calling Overwatch: Classic.

“Each Overwatch: Classic event will feature heroes and balance from popular moments in the game’s history, ranging from the fast paced and frantic gameplay of the 2017 Moth Meta to the triple-tank, triple-support style of ‘Goats’, Blizzard said.

Overwatch Classic will be available for three weeks as an Overwatch 2 game mode, continuing the trend of fun, experimental game events.
