In a draft light on quarterback talent, Texas star Quinn Ewers is capitalizing. The former No. 1 high school recruit is leaving the Longhorns after three seasons to jump to the NFL.

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers has declared for the 2025 NFL draft, he announced Wednesday. Ewers, a redshirt junior with one season of eligibility remaining, led the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff semifinals in each of the last two years. In 36 games at Texas from 2022-24, he passed for 9,128 yards and 64 touchdowns.

After bringing Texas football back into relevance, quarterback Quinn Ewers declared for the 2025 NFL draft on Wednesday.

Ewers, who was born in Texas, began his career at Ohio State before transferring to Texas where he started for three years, threw 68 touchdowns and led the Longhorns to two CFP appearances. This past year he held off Arch Manning, who will now take his spot as the team's starting quarterback.

The former Longhorns signal caller will take his talents to the NFL after two trips to the College Football Playoff.
