During Sunday’s post-race press conference following Max Verstappen’s win in the Japanese Grand Prix, Lando Norris was asked about how McLaren handled the strategy behind the Red Bull driver. With Norris starting second and teammate Oscar Piastri third,

“Perfection, just perfection, Max,” was the succinct summary of Verstappen’s race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase, a cool character not usually prone to such hyperbole. It spoke volumes of the result that Verstappen had delivered on Sunday.

Max Verstappen won his fourth consecutive Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday, holding off the McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. It was the first win of the season for Red Bull's Verstappen, the reigning Formula One champion.
