Nintendo has revealed the Switch 2 in a video posted to its YouTube channel. The console is set for release in 2025, and is bigger than the original with a new Joy-Con design. A Nintendo Direct event on April 2 will share more information about the Switch 2.

Nintendo just revealed the Nintendo Switch 2 on its official YouTube channel and a new landing page. Originally titled “An update from Nintendo,” the video shows a full render of the new hardware’s changes. A full Nintendo Direct for the Switch 2 is scheduled for April 2, followed by in-person events worldwide.

Certain Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. Details will be shared on the Nintendo website at a later date.

Nintendo fans in select cities worldwide will get the chance to test out the newly announced Nintendo Switch 2. As is the company’s habit, without much warning or fanfare Nintendo released a teaser for its upcoming console, the Switch 2, early Thursday. According to the trailer, the console is slated for release later this year.
