Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso lamented his side's failure to hold onto a first-half lead at 10-man Atletico Madrid, who fought back to beat them 2-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday, saying his side lacked the maturity to cope with the pressure.
Xabi arrived early in the morning with the team on their bus. He led a training session on the Valdebebas pitch with nine outfield players and two goalkeepers, while the rest of the squad worked out in the gym. After the session, they headed to the airport for their 1:45 PM flight back to Germany.
The Spanish coach is the main candidate to replace Ancelotti at Real Madrid.
