The leader of a small group of self-described satanists and three other people were arrested Friday following a scuffle inside the Kansas Statehouse arising from an effort by the group’s leader to start a Black Mass in the rotunda.

Catholic leaders in the state while deploring the planned sacriligious “black mass” had called for peaceful and prayerful resistance.

The president of a Kansas-based satanic group says it is going ahead with a planned “black Mass” inside the state’s capital building despite objections by the governor and Christian groups. He’s calling it an act of defiance.
