SpaceX is set to launch the seventh test flight of its Starship megarocket on Thursday (Jan. 16), and you can watch the action live. The 400-foot-tall (122 meters) Starship is scheduled to lift off from SpaceX's Starbase site in South Texas Thursday at 5 p.m. EST (2200 GMT; 4 p.m. local Texas time).

The unmanned Starship rocket was apparently destroyed during its first flight launch of 2025 that blasted off from south Texas.

SpaceX on Thursday launched its biggest Starship prototype rocket yet in a seventh test mission from Texas that will attempt to deploy the rocket's first mock satellites in space, a company live stream showed.

Blue Origin successfully launched the rocket after an attempt earlier in the week was scrubbed. The flight is a crucial test of the company’s ability to compete with Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

The uncrewed New Glenn rocket took off at 2:03 a.m. EST from Complex 36 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Blue Origin said.
