Mets veteran excited about additions, hints at more coming. Is it Pete Alonso?
With the support of owner Steve Cohen, the Mets stole Juan Soto from the Yankees with a historic 15-year, $765 million deal. He also added pitching depth, signing right-handers Frankie Montas and Clay Holmes to short-term deals, and he poached left-hander A.J. Minter from the Atlanta Braves among other moves.
It still makes so much sense for Mets, Pete Alonso to reunite
A divorce seems probable after the Mets began moving on last week, with the belief that Alonso will be signing elsewhere. The team has since re-signed Jesse Winker and Thursday officially announced lefty A.J. Minter’s addition to the bullpen. The buzz surrounding Alonso, meanwhile, has been minimal.
