A cold and miserable start to Friday in SWLA is quickly clearing up, but sunshine will take a little longer to move in.

Snow will begin Friday afternoon and snow covered roads are possible for the evening commute. 2-3″ of snow is expected by Saturday morning.

After some light snow from last night, some of us will have a few slick spots on the roads this morning. Other than that, the commute into work will not be troublesome. Skies will be mainly cloudy today with highs in the mid to upper-20s again.

Meteorologist Mike Slifer previews the forecast, which includes two more first alert weather days for wicked wind chills. The cold, windy weather continues. Our *First Alert Weather Day* continues through this evening as wind chill values remain in the 5-15 degree range as gusts stay between 40 and 50 mph.

Snow continues through tonight. Current data has a 1 to 4 inch snow area wide by tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will be blustery in some towns with a west wind at 10-20 mph. Lake effect snow showers will be in the area. Locally over 2 inches of additional snow where snow bands persist. Afternoon temperatures around 30 degrees.
