Mexico's president sarcastically said that the U.S. should be called "Mexican America" after Trump's vow to rename the Gulf of Mexico the "Gulf of America."

As is often the case with Trump, it’s unclear whether his remarks are to be taken at face value or if he's simply trying to stir the pot.

The "Gulf of Mexico" name is internationally recognized, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Wednesday in response to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's comments about renaming the body of water.
