With an infield logjam addressed in a reported trade, the Los Angeles Dodgers' new South Korean player Kim Hye-seong appears to have a clearer path to playing time than when he signed last week. According to multiple reports coming out of the United States on Monday (local time),

The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to terms with utility player Hyeseong Kim on a three-year contract for $12.5 million with a two-year club option for 2028 and 2029. The Dodgers designated catcher Diego Cartaya to make room on the 40-man roster.

The Dodgers signed infielder Hyeseong Kim on Friday to a three-year, $12.5 million contract through 2027, along with a two-year option for 2028 and 2029 that, along with bonuses, could bring the total value of the deal to $22 million over five years.

The Korean free agent and Seattle Mariners target reportedly turned down more money to sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
