Albert Popov claimed his first ever victory in the alpine skiing World Cup after surprising the field in Wednesday's slalom in Madonna di Campiglio.

Bulgaria's Albert Popov won a first alpine skiing men's World Cup event when he triumphed in a slalom in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy on Wednesday. He had only ever managed third place in a World Cup race in 2023 in Palisades Tahoe in the US.
