TCL's also touting a 23-bit backlight controller as part of its Halo Control System, which purportedly allows finer granular control of over 65,000 levels of brightness for each LED. Other features include a new backlit remote, a new Art mode and Art gallery, thinner bezels, and Google TV for smart chores.

A built-in 2.2-channel Bang & Olufsen speaker system delivers Dolby Atmos sound, and the Google TV is onboard for streaming with a far-field mic for voice control. Gaming is also well supported on the QM7K series TVs, with 4K 144Hz for PC gaming, AMD FreeSync, and a Game Accelerator feature for 1080p 288Hz VRR.

The QM7K pairs its QD-Mini LED backlight with a high-contrast HVA Panel, boosting dark-state performance for up to five times the native contrast. Enhanced QLED technology, featuring a new Color Optimization Algorithm and vibrant Quantum Crystals, further refines color accuracy.

TCL was pretty quiet at CES 2025, announcing only a single TV, the decidedly mid-range TCL QM6K Mini-LED television powered by a Super High Energy chip that it claimed would boost brightness by up to 53%.

TCL just unveiled a new TV in its Precise Dimming Series. The QM7K is a Mini-LED TV and a follow-up to the recently-released QM6K. It uses the company’s Halo Control Technology Suite, which is kind of a catch-all name for a bunch of tweaks the company has made to the dimming and picture quality of its Mini LEDs.

After the launch of the QM6K earlier this year, TCL is expanding its 2025 lineup with the launch of the QM7K. The QM7K brings upgraded Mini LED technology, higher brightness, and more precise backlight control.
