The NBA regular season is entering the final two weeks. Here are current playoff standings and how the Play-In Tournament works.
The Timberwolves and Nuggets will cap off the evening of hoops with a lot on the line in the playoff standings, with both teams trying for a third straight win tonight. Minnesota holds the No. 7 spot while Denver sits in third, but only four total games separate them in the jam-packed Western Conference.
The Knicks have won three of their last five games by 15 points or more, covering twice as a double-digit favorite. Remember, that’s all without Brunson in the lineup, so there’s no need to adjust off of that. New York is simply blowing out bad teams as it tries to stay sharp and protect its playoff seeding.
The Heat, like the Bulls, are a surprise in that they appeared to be on the way down when they traded Jimmy Butler prior to the deadline. Instead, they have won five straight to stay at No. 9 in the standings and firmly in Play-In contention.
The NBA just can't settle on an All-Star format. The Elam Ending came and went. The East vs. West format has been axed twice now with a player draft held in between those two runs. This season, the NBA tried something new.
The NCAA Tournament still has a few games left to play, but that hasn't slowed the entry of a handful of talented players into the transfer portal.
