Boeing will furlough tens of thousands of its executives, managers and others as more than 30,000 machinists intend to go on strike Friday in Seattle and Oregon.

In other news, Boeing has made the decision to furlough a large number of U.S. executives, managers and other staff members. The move comes just days after more than 30,000 Boeing machinists went on strike over a new labor contract.

Boeing will furlough its executives, managers and other white-collar employees one week of every four for the duration of a strike that union employees voted to authorize last week amid negotiations over pay and pension.
