A marathon of a final day at the 2025 Latin America Amateur Championship saw Justin Hastings pull away to win the title. Finishing the tournament at 16 under, Hastings finished one stroke clear of Peru's Patrick Sparks to become the second player from the Cayman Islands to claim the championship.

State men’s golfer Justin Hastings came out on top at the 2025 Latin American Amateur Championship Saturday after he shot 16 under in his four rounds.

Hastings, a senior at San Diego State, won the Latin America Amateur Championship in a 36-hole Saturday, becoming the second Cayman Islands native to win the event.
