Ao Tanaka and Joel Piroe struck late goals as Leeds snatched a 3-1 win at promotion rivals Sheffield United to extend their lead at the top of the Championship.

United lost after opening the scoring for the first time this season, with three goals in the final 18 minutes turning a 1-0 win into a crushing 3-1 defeat. Chris Wilder ’s side came flying out the blocks with Illan Meslier’s own-goal the culmination of an away side on the ropes, with Bramall Lane rocking after 25 minutes.

Daniel Farke played down the significance of victory, but Leeds United took a giant stride towards an automatic promotion place when they beat closest challengers Sheffield United 3-1 at Bramall Lane.
