The country will increase the permit fees for climbing Mount Everest by more than 35%, making the world’s tallest peak more expensive for mountaineers for the first time in nearly a decade, officials said.

For those who want to climb Mount Everest the fee will be $15,000 during the peak season, up 36% from its $11,000 fee, the BBC reported. If you climb outside of the peak season, it will still be a 36% increase. From September until November, it will cost $7,500 while the December to February period will be $3,750.
