The Hampton Roads region south of Williamsburg will see severe weather for much of Wednesday afternoon, including the possibility of tornadoes and hail.

The strongest storms could bring wind gusts as high as hurricane force (70-80 mph), according to the weather service. Winds like that could bring down lots of trees and power lines. A few tornadoes will also be possible, especially in southwest Alabama.

While wind gusts up to 45-50 miles per hour may enter the state Tuesday morning. As the strongest part of the storm moves through, gusts could reach 70 miles per hour in the area of Enhanced Risk and 60 miles per hour in the areas of Slight Risk.
