Officers had allowed and in some cases encouraged fights between teens being held at a detention center in Downey, Calif., the state’s attorney general said.

Thirty officers have been accused of staging dozens of brutal "gladiator fights" at a youth detention facility in California.

According to a press release from Attorney General Rob Bonta, 30 officers at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall "allowed, and in some instances, encouraged 69 fights to occur between youths" between July 1, 2023 and Dec. 31, 2023.
