Review of my Quest 3 compared to my VIVE Pro 2 w/ wireless
Dec 24, 2023 · My VIVE setup: I purchased my HTC VIVE Pro 2 shortly after its release in June 2021. I have 4x HTC/Valve base stations, 2 Valve knuckle controllers, and the HTC VIVE wireless adapter (I ran the headset both wired and wireless). FYI, I also had a Valve Index, but only for a very short period of time.

Jan 24, 2023 · You just can't beat the image quality of the Vive Pro 2. It's a huge difference in games with high quality assets. Caveat that you should at least be rocking a 3080 in order to run Vive Pro 2 at it's native resolution (+ barrel distortion compensation so about 3100x3100). The Index is still a fine headset though and you would not regret it.

Jan 14, 2023 · the vive xr elite no longer needs base stations or a wireless adapter as it has built in wifi, it has higher resolution then my og vive but less than the vive pro 2, its lightweight, smaller and more portable, my major issue with this headset is that it requires vive streaming software in order to run, so my questions are.

Oct 18, 2023 · Also I would prefer to go wireless and the HTC vive pro 2 is wired, unless you purchase a wireless kit. The HTC Vive pro 2 is also more expensive which sucks, considering that it is now old tech. You'd think that HTC would consider lowering the price now that the META Quest 3 is out. The Valve Index is also too expensive in 2023.

Jul 19, 2022 · There is NO lens replacement. for the Vive Pro 2. Just by luck, the lenses for the Gear fit on both the Vive and original Vive Pro, but that was just happenstance and doesn't apply for the Vive Pro 2. Changing lenses will result in a broken Vive Pro 2! Unfortunately, there really is no way to improve the lens at the moment.

I have zero of those issues other than the god rays. And I’m coming from a Vive/rift CV1 to Vive pro to index to Quest 2 to Hp reverb G2 to now Vive pro 2. I miss the level of comfort and compact nature of the OG Rift but overall I wouldn’t change it for anything else right now. Unless an index 2 or proper Rift successor came out.
