Add GPS to Surface Pro or Surface Pro 2
Feb 16, 2014 · The Surface Pro, Surface Pro 2, and Surface Pro 3 have an onboard accelerometer, gyroscope, and digital compass. But it does not have GPS. I've been using the GlobalSat ND-100S GPS dongle for my GPS on my Surface Pro 2 for months. When I need to track actual GPS, it works great.

But, I'm considering pre-ordering one and I don't want to regret my choice. I would like to use the Surface Pro 2 as my primary device, as a productivity tool. I use GIMP frequently.

Because I live a 2-hour(+) drive from the closest Microsoft Store, I set up an appointment and did just that. However, after spending 20 minutes trying things, the MS tech couldn't figure it out either.

If you install this app on the Surface Pro 2, you have a picture of the Surface Pro 2, with a focus on its pen, and a text that says "Coming Soon".

Aug 6, 2014 · the charger was not even trying to charge (it was cold!)As I already have a surface pro (I won the surface 2 in a draw). I tried plugging it on my surface pro charger and it did start charging! I believe the charger of the surface 2 is not powerful enough to charge a fully discharged battery (fully discharged should mean 30% or so on a LIPO).

Sep 23, 2013 · iFixit listed the Surface Pro as one of the 10 most difficult devices to repair, so unless you're a tech with experience and proper tools, getting into it without breaking something doesn't appear to be in the cards. I've seen nothing to say that the Surface 2/Pro 2 will be any different in construction.
