Evacuations urged for Missouri community ahead of major flooding at the Meramec River

The Meramec changed a little bit at Villander Bluff since the last time i was up there. I came up river left like i had been doing during the low water, but there was no channel there anymore. All the water was flowing off on river right. It's a motor canoe, but it's still a canoe, so the principals of moving in swift water apply all the same. I brought it to a near stop, turned the bow to catch the current, and then counter-steered into it. The result is moving sideways across the current, with
