Slugs and beans! Summer 2023 was so cool and wet, that slugs never stopped breeding. Even when sowing these beans I was finding more and more eggs and slugs, they are EVERYWHERE! So, I’m relieved to see even just a few of these broad bean come up. They were sown two week ago today, it is roughly a week to ten days before they germinate, so seeing them above ground now, is about right.
